I am not dead

I've been really bad about using this lately.  It mainly exists as a place to put fiction I don't intend to shop around and writing posts that I feel are too long for G+, and I haven't needed either of those much lately.

That's not to say I haven't been writing.  I did successfully complete my edit of Untitled Mystery of Mystery more or less on schedule.  However, it's been trunked for now.  It still has some big gaping holes, and more importantly, I'm not sure it's the best debut novel for me.  It's pretty much straight thriller, and most of my other projects are various flavors of fantasy.  If it were a more even split, I wouldn't worry so much about it, but it might be best saved for when I've established myself a bit.

In the meantime, I've resurrected an old project.  A very old project.  The very first draft of it was handwritten while I was doing summer volunteer work in seventh grade.  It's undergone numerous drafts and incarnations over the years, and I finally think I have a handle on it.  I'm collaborating with an artist and a very good friend, and the plan is to release it as a webcomic.  Since said artist and very good friend also has twin infants (twinfants?), two jobs, and is working on a master's, it will be quite a while before it actually drops.  Still, I'm crazy excited.

Once I finish the current chapter of that, I'm going to be switching gears into NaNoWriMo prep.  If I've learned anything in my previous three competitions, it's that November comes a hell of a lot sooner than you think.  Though I'm an inveterate pantser, I have an idea that I really want to get done, and I think NaNo is the perfect opportunity for it.  It's a NA novel that deals with that strange last summer before you leave for college, the aftermath of a paranormal romance relationship a couple of decades on, and science!

Oh, and I bought a house.  So free time is kind of an issue right now.

I really am going to try to put some more content up here, though.  I have a couple of new features planned that should be fun.

You know, for the three of you who care.
